4/1/10 - This is NOT an April Fool's joke.
Patt got a letter in the mail today. We get emails from time to time, but we've never gotten snail mail before with a letter saying how much someone enjoyed this website. But wait ... there's more. Here's what the letter said:
"Dear Pat,
I found that you are Nebraska's historian for the SCCA. I have been around the auto sports for a long time and recently stumbled across your magnificent site with the history. I have spent many hours looking through everything and am still finding more.
Spending a lot of time working with computer people, I know this is a huge undertaking on the webmaster's part.
I would like to donate a small bit of cash to fray costs - would you see that the person who puts the time and money into this site receive this.
Thank you so much for many hours of enjoyment.

A race car history buff."
Inside the envelope was cash, but not what I would call a small amount. What was in there will cover one-third of our expenses for the next year. So, to our anonymous fan, whoever you are, THANK YOU!!!
We hope that you continue to enjoy the History Site!
I've always said "All donations gratefully accepted" but I never expected anyone to take me up on it. WOW!!
